Becoming a Member: Join Firm Foundations of Greensboro.

Thank you for registering your family with Firm Foundations of Greensboro! The registration process allows us to learn more about your family and to see if Firm Foundations aligns with your family's needs. Here are a few important things to know about Firm Foundations that make us different from other groups.

1. Firm Foundations is a faith-based tutorial service which offers a variety of classes for homeschooling families. Please read our Statement of Faith and Policies here to gain insight into the principles that guide our community.

2. Firm Foundations emphasizes the importance of building relationships and establishing a warm, community-focused atmosphere. As such, we have several requirements of participating families that often set us apart from other organizations.
  • The first is that, with the exception of students in 8th grade and above, this is not a drop-off program. Parents of students who are in 7th grade or below must remain on campus. We offer a variety of optional activities for parents to participate in if they would like to do so.
  • Additionally, chapel attendance is a requirement for any students or adults who are on-campus during that time. Chapel is a time for coming together, praising God, and nurturing relationships. It typically lasts 20 minutes and can include a time of praise and worship and/or a speaker as well as any pertinent community announcements and reminders.
3. The strength of our group lies in the active participation of our members and the sharing of ideas and talents. Parents can participate in a variety of ways that include, but are not limited to, teaching a class, volunteering in a classroom, assisting with field trips and other special events. All parents are required to complete work duty a few times during the year. These duties involve helping with setting up, breaking down or at lunch time. The frequency of work duty will depend of the number of families enrolled but typically averages around 6-7 times per year.
